I’ve sort of slipped into this mildly annoying habit recently. Whatever I am watching, I’m not really fully watching because my internal dialogue is giving a little critique of the upholstery.

When I  took a trip to my Mums house in France last week we watched High Society on the five and a half hour ferry crossing whilst Ding & Joo were driving their cars around the cabin. I always take a tonne of DVDs to watch in the evenings when the kids are in bed. I bought High Society from a charity shop but also, I’m so happy to have salvaged the original soundtrack from my Nans house last year.

The furniture is just marvellous. I was swooning my way through every scene. Unfortunately for you, you may have to hire the film to appreciate it’s magnificence as taking a picture through a television does not always produce the best of images!

Beautiful garden furniture with stripes and roses chintz fabric.

Wow, I just adore this satin brocade covered wing chair in powder pink….

And look at this embossed velvet arm chair…

A totally over-the-top scroll winged chair in the study of the mansion, also in satin brocade.

Not only is it worth watching for the furniture, but the beautiful Grace Kelly is stunning…then there’s the music by Louis Armstrong…I could go on. SUCH a lovely film.
