A Few Personal Upholstery Projects

I’ve been working on a ‘got to get all these jobs finished by Christmas’ list recently. This has included lots of lovely little upholstery projects I have around my home plus some painting.

First I’ve made a couple of headboards for my little boys rooms’. We moved them in to the same room recently and I got a couple of low bed frames free on gumtree which I upholstered in navy. These headboards were also bought secondhand; the rounded one from gumtree for £5 and the longer one form a charity shop for £3.

One ongoing project that took me a good few months inbetween jobs was this chesterfield for our playroom. I bought this on gumtree as a sofa bed for £20. After a lot of time and effort, including adding the buttons in and changing the legs to wooden ones,  I turned it into this chesterfield. I’d never done a chesterfield before so I learnt a lot along the way.

When I was 17 I inherited a piano from my Great Grandmother and ever since its been sitting in my mothers home. Just recently I had it transported up to my house in the hope of re-learning again (I used to be up to Grade 5 but I can barely read music any more). I have to say I’ve really enjoyed tinkering away since its arrival. I also gave it a bit of a makeover with some annie sloane paint.

Finally my mum found this cute cushion cover ready for landfill at the charity shop where she works so she gave it to me – now washed and sewn up with a new inner, it looks perfect in my lounge.
