If you follow me on twitter, facebook or instagram (yes I think that covers all spheres..no wait..Pinterest too!) You will know I’ve just signed a book deal. Weeeehhh! Very excited to tell you my upholstery book is due out July 2015.
I’ve had lots of people through my studio doors of late. Last weekend I did another one day Upholstery Workshop. My students’ travelled from quite far afield this time- New Milton and Blandford. We had lots of fun upholstering, chatting over a nice lunch of quiche, salad and a large slice of homemade coffee and walnut cake. Yum. I’m now fully booked for June 10th Workshop, but have places for July 12th.
I was given a chair by one of my antique dealer clients and it’s been sitting in my workshop used as my sewing machine chair. I decided to strip it and reupholster it this week.
I used Farrow and Ball Yellow Cake to paint it and waxed it over with Annie Sloane Clear wax so it doesn’t chip. I adore this vintage patterned courdoroy I bought last year at Judys Affordable Vintage Fair when it made its way to Bournemouth.
I have some other projects on the go too still to complete a couple of parker knoll chairs for my website. Talking of which I’m having a complete Website re-design! It’s going live next month so looking forward to that. I will be changing the layout and having a better (much easier to use, from my part) shop selling my vintage fabrics and furniture and detailing a bit more about the classes.
